Help Anti Hunger Squad feed thousands of Poor people every day.
200 million people in India go to sleep hungry and millions die due to hunger every year. Zeeshan Majid’s, founder of Anti Hunger Squad, has dedicated each day of his life to eradicate hunger. Zeeshan not only distributed food during the multiple & lengthy Covid-19 lockdowns but also distributed masks, medicine and oxygen cylinders to the needy. For his noble work, he was recognized as a Covid Warrior in IPL 2020. He was also included among the Covid Warriors in the Limca Book of Records – 2020-22 as well.
“I receive 1000+ calls every day by people begging me to feed them,” says Zeeshan. “It is heartbreaking to hear them cry in despair as they spend hours in hunger. The COVID-19 pandemic has terribly impacted the lives of those people who didn’t have much, to begin with. After traveling miles to get their loved ones treated, most of these people have no money left for even 2 square meals. At Anti Hunger Squad, we aim at feeding the poor and needy for free, one meal at a time.”
The birth of the Anti Hunger Squad and how it has helped thousands of people.
One day, as Zeeshan was on his way to work, he came across a man who had met with a terrible accident. He decided to take him to a nearby government hospital as no passerby stepped forward to support him. At the hospital, Zeeshan noticed many poor families who had traveled across states to get their loved ones treated, wait helplessly for some good news. They had no food, home, or anyone to turn to for support. Disturbed by the sight, Zeeshan decided to start a food drive to help such poor people.
“I started this food camp on 20th May 2018. With the help of my family and friends, we managed to distribute home-cooked food to nearly 150 people every Sunday. We would mainly target government hospitals outside Kolkata where people waited as their loved ones received medical help. The smile on their faces after receiving a packet of food warms my heart.”
Ever since the pandemic began, Zeeshan and his team have been supplying food packets and food kits every day to the homeless and hungry. The packets contain delicious khichdi or vegetable pulav. While the food kits contain 5kg rice, 1kg atta, and 1kg dal. As the food is distributed free of cost, Zeeshan took to social media to make people aware of his cause for which he received massive support in donations. They’re feeding 1200+ people daily at Sonagachi (Asia’s largest red light area) and numerous hospitals.
His charitable foundation provided relief materials during natural disasters, such as floods or cyclones. He distributed food during the Amphan cyclone in May 2020 at Chandipur, Gosaba, Patharpratima, Basanti in Sundarban, as well as Harapur, Nalmuri, Bantala, Bhojerhat, Ghatakpukur in South 24-Parganas and other locations. When cyclone Yaas hit in May 2021, the food kits were also distributed to people in Mandarmuni, Purshottomnagar in East Midnapore and other Sundarban islands.
As their reach & impact grows, fewer people & children sleep hungry - fewer die of hunger. But as Anti Hunger Squad saves more people, they also continually face a shortage of funds due to limited donations.

Zeeshan passionately says, “Two days in my life are valuable—the day I was born and the day I discovered why I was born. Despite trying many things in life, including a job and a business, I never achieved satisfaction. That changed when I started distributing food.
“I wish to serve people of the world. If I have an opportunity, I will ensure that no one sleeps hungry,” he added.
