I, VikramRam have been deeply embedded in the affairs of Auroville for 6 years as an investigative journalist and an activist. I hold a Masters in business Administration and have worked in various reputed companies, run businesses, and have even had my share of law, injustice, and politics.

 
Auroville, the international township nestled in Tamil Nadu, India, was founded in 1968 with a mission to be a universal town where men and women from all walks of life can live in peace and progressive harmony, transcending the barriers of nationality, religion, and culture. Over the years, Auroville has failed to be a symbol of hope and a living laboratory for sustainable development, human unity, and spiritual transformation.

After 50 years of “aberration” from its ideals, Auroville Dream is Hijacked now almost being Destroyed. Both lobbies are fighting each other to continue the status quo of retaining autonomy, which is a goal of “The Vatican in India”

 
Crimes in Auroville:

In the name of autonomy, Auroville runs its own Security & Liaison Team, which ensures crimes are not reported, covered up, or made hostile for 50 years. All crimes ranging from Pedophilia, Theft, Drug Abuse, Idol Smuggling, and Assault are kept under wraps. The Auroville Working Groups keep Residents in threat of housing, visa, and livelihood. Aurovilians over decades have been keeping the Masterplan at a moot point, at a stage where it can never return to its original. They have given birth to local gang outfits, heckled people in the 1970s, indulged in criminal gang-related activities, economic offenses, donation fraud, undue enrichment, and buying lands against Mother’s ideals, all in the name of spirituality. Auroville is a township, which is run like an Ashram giving all sorts of crimes a blanket cover. It supersedes all laws imaginable to give Auroville a Vatican-like status, where even our Constitution does not apply.

 
The Hawala Channel:

During the course of the investigation, I found out that many governments have kept silent since there seems to be keen interest in keeping 43 odd international centres and 37 odd trusts functioning without accountability where the Mother said one single trust.

Aurovilians are indulging in activities and taking lavish profits home without any ambit of law or foreign direct investment. Instead of donating 100% as the Mother envisioned, it has become a commercial enterprise.

 
The Public Interest Litigation WP 5961/2020 Madras High Court:

After an Enquiry Committee was initiated by Dr. Karan Singh which cited Central Agency Investigations ( CBI, ED, NCB, NIA & IT raids ) some people in Auroville with vested interests tried to cover up the report. I filed a Public Interest Litigation in Madras High Court, WP 5961/2020 in February 2020 respondents being, 1) the Union of India 2) The Director - of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) 3) The Director of Enforcement Directorate. 4) The Chairman ( Previous Dr. Karan Singh, now Shri R.N.Ravi ). Post that we followed the investigation, news and cover-ups through sources in Auroville, RTIs and Government offices which are on our website: www.aurovillefiles.in
Some key individuals also sought favours from the Director of the National Investigative Agency, the Prime Minister’s office, the Home Ministry and more to hush up matters. The case brought about many administrative changes and the Government intends to build the city, which resulted in clashes in Auroville. In the NGT case, the tree and forests are just eyewash stories, the fact is that the people spearheading this were the ones responsible for the Auroville aberration of 50 years.

I have dedicated 6 years of my life to the vision of Auroville and to ensuring the villages in and around the area are safe. I have been attacked physically and I have funded the journey so far. It is an inner calling of Sri Aurobindo & The Mother that kept me going, but we need your help.

Phase 2 of Auroville, that is the judicial battle begins now. I hold full responsibility for all my findings and articles and I am alone to fight the might of the Government of which lobbies seem to have interests. My work is on merit, and many methods of silencing us were adopted, but we stood through thick and thin. I am supported by many well-wishers in the Government and in Auroville to reveal so much from the secretive activities in the community.
