Let's bring some light into Vijay's life

Dear Friends,
My name is Ram Gundapu. I am here to share a story of someone who is very close to me, a friend. Since all of us have friends, I want to believe your heart will resonate with this story.

This true story is about Vijay Kumar Sankoju. Vijay is my childhood friend. He is a hard-working carpenter by profession in a small village near Warangal, Telangana.

In December 2021, while working in his carpentry workshop, a piece of wood struck Vijay’s right eye leaving a severe injury. His family members rushed him to the nearby Hospital in Warangal. As the injury was severe to the sensitive part of his eye, the local hospital immediately referred him to Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Hyderabad for better treatment, where doctors declared that his right eyeball and cornea damaged badly, and it is impossible to get his vision back. His family members even consulted LV Prasad Eye Hospital for 2nd opinion, where he underwent several tests and diagnosis. The doctors said that he lost his right eye completely.

Adding to the tragedy, he lost his mother a couple of weeks ago due to ill health which placed him in further dire straits. Vijay is the only earning person in the family. He has a wife, 2 kids. The series of events has put him in a place that he now has to pull his kids out of school because of financial hardships.

Vijay is a skilled carpenter. However, he is not able to continue this profession with blindness. So, we are planning to setup a small provisional and groceries store for him to restart his life again. So that he and his family can survive, his kids can continue their studies and have a better life.

I’m sure if your friend experienced such terrible times, you would do everything you can to help, and your empathy and support is what’s needed for this story too. I request you all to kindly contribute to  Vijay’s crowdfund,  to start his life again and fight this unfortunate disability.
