Covid-19 Crisis

One of our flagship initiatives is the Livelihood Support Program. The project enables 100 artisans to find their livelihood by making eco-friendly bamboo products, mainly handicrafts.  These artisans – 90% rural women, belong to very low socio-economic backgrounds, and are hard hit economically and emotionally as their markets are completely washed off and most linkages disrupted due to COVID-19. They didn’t have employment for the last three months, and with uncertainty looming at large for next few months, their situation is becoming more and more delicate now.

Our artisans were only beginning to cope with the devastating impact of the last two floods in Wayanad when the pandemic hit us all.  Being extremely vulnerable to sudden shocks, they are now pushed deeper towards chronic poverty. Majority of these artisans are sole breadwinners of their families. Some are single mothers, and some elderly nearing their sixties. The pandemic has crushed their only source of income and threatens to push them away from the only art they have practiced for living.

With prediction of another flood this year, the only way out is the support and help you could offer. The money raised would provide direct income support to 100 artisan families.  Donation from all of you would help our artisans to survive this pandemic and the impending floods.

Help us bring back some sort of normalcy to their lives and realities shattered by COVID-19.
Your contribution would keep our rural, eco-friendly industry alive!!

Let’s survive and help to survive together!!
