NIC Knowledge Donation Drive in association with Unquarantine

“Unquarantine”, an initiative by the students of Indian School of Business, started in April 2020 to encourage Indian citizens to help communities worst affected by the COVID19 during the lockdown period. We were successful in raising 2 lakh funds that supported 4 NGOs - WouldYouCare, Sattva, Angel Xpress, Khwaab through the months of May & June.

Unquarantine in collaboration with Net Impact Club (Indian School of Business) is now raising funds for girl child education.

According to the 2011 census, 1 in 4 children of school-going age is out of school in our country – 99 million children in total have dropped out of school. Out of every 100 children, only 32 children finish their school education age-appropriately. There are 10.13 million child labourers between 5-14 years in India.

This Daan Utsav and Udaan let’s pledge to do our bit. Let’s pledge to help 900 girl children continue their education in this pandemic and mentor underprivileged young India reach their dreams.

What role can we play to help this cause?
Net Impact Club, ISB in collaboration with SwaTaleem NGO is launching a Fundraiser for girl children severely impacted by the pandemic. Fostering Swataleem’s mission we are aiming at helping 900 adolescent girls in government schools in rural Haryana to continue their education remotely. The funds raised will be utilized for establishing low-tech and context-appropriate platforms to connect students and developing relevant learning content for the digital medium.

Net Impact Club, ISB will also collaborate with Pro-Bano for its flagship event Udaan, a psychometric testing organization and help mentor young students realize their ambitions.

When and how will we serve these people?
Donations can be made in multiples of Rs. 200. With INR 75,000 we can support two women leaders from the community, field coordinators, mobilize local communities to support girls’ education and directly work with the girls at the village level for 6 months. With additional INR 20,000, we will reach out to Pro-bano and get their testing services for students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandigarh.

Our aim is to help 900 girl children achieve their dreams, but of course the sky is the limit. :)

The funds are being withdrawn to the account of one of Unquarantine's team members (Shreya Srivastava). The funds are then dispersed to different organizations working to support girls in different cities.

All funds that are being raised are going to be withdrawn. On fund utilization, we will be using it for the IVRS Learning program as already mentioned in our campaign.

The funds raised will be used specifically for program coordination salaries, program platform (Exotel), IVRS calls, and recharge content creation and teacher training.

Unquarantine started as an initiative to organize virtual fundraisers in our student community and use those funds to help COVID relief efforts of Khwaab, WouldyouCare, and Sattva - organizations with which our founding team members were working.

We are organizing another virtual event to support the LGBTQ community and hence have reactivated this link. Keep supporting us!
