I am Astha Choubey, currently pursuing 12th grade in Pune. I am extremely passionate about reimagining education and have been part of various events like KER Retreat, KER Rev Council, Panaah, Fellows of the Future, and more. Today, I am here to raise funds for my project "COW" (Community of Wisdom) to support underprivileged kids in my community.

Today, I am here to raise funds for my project "COW" (Community of Wisdom) to support underprivileged kids in my community.
I am driven by my own past, where I didn't have access to leadership opportunities and essential skills. That's why I initiated this project after seeing a girl who couldn't afford school, studying newspapers with dedication. Through the COW project, I aim to implement a CoW program in two government schools for underprivileged children, focusing on teaching 21st-century skills and values like conflict resolution, adaptability, and decision-making. The program will enable them to explore their talents through various art forms, nurturing creativity while addressing social issues in their community.
Our goal is to instill constitutional values in these children and provide support for implementing their solutions and initiating new projects. We want to create a nurturing environment where they can develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, while unlocking their leadership potential. Every child deserves an opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background.
For the past week, we have been working on the COW project, and it has been an amazing journey. I've come to realised the immense potential these kids have to change our community, given the chance to grow. When we began, we assessed their knowledge of themselves, their community, India, and constitutional values. Sadly, most 7th graders were unable to answer about constitutional values, as they were not familiar with them, despite daily reciting the preamble during prayer. This experience showed us the harsh reality of their education.
Therefore, we have taken up the responsibility of building skills for these kids. In just one week, they have shown tremendous progress, understanding themselves, their community's problems, and their vision for India. They expressed a desire to possess superhero powers like bravery, confidence, and leadership to bring positive change to their classrooms first. I firmly believe that these kids are our future leaders, capable of transforming our community.

Here is a breakdown of our budget for fundraising. We aim to raise 35,000 to provide facilities and support for these underprivileged kids.
