‘Catch them young, build them strong’, is the motto of the Ants2Giants team of The United Foundation. Kick started in the year 2010, this program aims at making quality education a reality in Bangalore slums, by targeting young children, enrolling them into schools and providing additional mentoring. Today, we stand proud to the testimony of fantastic results in exams.

These children come from below the poverty line families who can barely afford 3 meals a day let alone provide the support and guidance in terms of their education. Most of these kids go to government schools in the slum which are neither equipped with good teaching staff or the right infrastructure to help the child fare well in their academics. Poor English speaking skills, Language and Maths basics is common among students. Majority of the students drop-out of high school due to lack of support. The students are enthusiastic and have immense potential but have no means to learn. TUF’s Ants2Giants (A2G) initiative was kickstarted to ensure these students are assisted & given the necessary aid to ensure quality education is delivered. We are committed to change the educational system in place to make today’s students the leaders of tomorrow. The goal is to encourage them to complete their degrees and move out of slums.

Over the years, TUF has
  • Impacted 5000 students via A2G initiative
  • Significantly decreased the number of girl children dropping out from High School.
  • Increased number of students opting for higher education.
  • Seen a significant rise in the students’ grades, confidence & overall personality development.

The team has left no stone unturned to combat the inadequacies of the ailing education system in pseudo urban slums.

TUF is currently impacting 160 students at slums in DJ Halli & Sevanagar, Bangalore. All subjects are taught by qualified teachers on the weekdays & Sundays are reserved for A2G mentoring sessions which cover personality development, skill development, moral values, goal setting & personal counseling.

It costs 52,000 INR per month to pay the teacher’s salaries & the rent of the centre.
To continue making this change, we need your support. Help us cover the tuition centre's cost for the year 2020. Come forward, contribute & empower children from marginalized communities.
