In the constantly evolving field of automotive engineering, researchers and designers continuously look to accomplish two tasks. They work to not only improve upon designs but to also teach and inspire the next generation of engineers to take an interest in the challenges and rewards of automotive engineering. SAE India hosts a large number of different collegiate events with two of the most popular being the Formula SAE and Baja SAE competitions.

What the project is all about?
Team Mech Estremo, an off-road racing team, was conceived in 2017 by a group of automobile enthusiasts in NIT-Agartala. The team participates in BAJA competitions organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Inspired and motivated by previous BAJA competitions, the team has set out to a build a car that would set a benchmark for design and manufacturing standards in NIT-Agartala and is increasing its standards year-by-year.
This event lets us enhance our knowledge and skills in the field of automobile engineering. For the event, we have to design and fabricate a four-wheeled single seater all-terrain vehicle which should be able to overcome all the off-road challenges of the track.

So who are we and what are we trying to do...
We, Team Mech-Estremo, are a group of 25 students of National Institute of Technology, Agartala lead by K. Rohith Kumar ( Captain - Team Mech-Estremo ) who design, fabricate and formulate our very own All-Terrain vehicle and encompass new techniques through learnings from our experiences, seniors, and lecturers. We bring the real insight of engineering by applying theoretical concepts to help our passion become tangible. We use different engineering software, materials and implement sound manufacturing techniques & skills to build a resilient off-road buggy.
We start building an ATV from scratch every year and test rigorously to all extremes to make the buggy firm and sturdier than the previous one. The final test is when we compete at BAJASAE INDIA event at Pithampur, Indore.
Giving a tough fight for the teams that compete from all over the country is not an easy task unless you support us.

What are our achievements?
2019: Team Mech Estremo successfully qualified all dynamic events and were able to participate in endurance race, with 63rd rank among 400 colleges over the country.
2018: We secured the 99th rank among teams from all over India in the main mBAJA 2018 event held at Pithampur, Indore.
2017: We secured 71st position, among the 388 colleges that came from all over the country in the BAJASAE VIRTUAL ROUND 2017.

What are the problems faced by us?
Team Mech-Estremo of NIT Agartala hailing from North East India, has the following major problems :

What are the problems faced by us?
Team Mech-Estremo of NIT Agartala hailing from North East India, has the following major problems :
- Procuring the required materials for manufacturing from different parts of India to the remote part of the country.
- Transportation of the finished buggy to the main event site and back to the college.
- Lack of sufficient fund i.e.w Crowdfunding.
How will the money help us?
If designing an ATV is a difficult task, manufacturing one is even more of a daunting one which requires money. Getting into contact with manufacturers and buying components for the vehicle is an expensive process. Being based in a remote location in North East India and being self financed, Team Mech Estremo is severely financially constrained which hampers us in executing our designs. Hence we need as much financial aid that we can get. The money that we will be able to gather from here will help us a lot in this respect.
