We are Rashtriya Life Saving Society (India), and we are pioneer of life saving sports in India. We organize National Lifesaving Sport Competition under the name Rescue India where different teams and sportpersons from all over India participate. Winners of Rescue India championship would qualify to represent team India in Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving.
The RLSS Commonwealth Festival of Lifesaving will be held from 21st to 23rd November 2019 in Leeds. The festival aims to encourage participation in lifesaving sport and further development of lifesaving practices, as well as bring the lifesaving family together.
This year, Rescue India will be conducted on 20th October to 25th October, 2019 in Diu. Through this event we are trying to spread awareness about life saving in India and bring together life saving sports athletes. As a country India loses over 80 people everyday to drowning.
Lifesaving Sports tests fitness, rescue and first aid skills of lifesavers. What’s great about this sport is that it’s not just about physical aptitude – it’s also about the ability to prioritise, adapt and show initiative. This sport is growing in India and all over the world.
I hope you will join us in our fundraising efforts for the sending Team India to the Commonwealth Festival Of Lifesaving (COFL). Amount which will be raised will be utilised for training of Indian team by international coaches, provision of official kits, diet of the team, travel to UK and their stay for competition.
