    This fundraiser will benefit

    Sushanth

    from Hyderabad, Telangana

“They told us we were too late and Sushanth won’t live for long. But we didn’t give up. Our relatives suggested to take him to Hyderabad. The doctors said Sushanth can only survive if he undergoes a liver transplant within 7 days. I’m a poor farmer how will I arrange for so much to afford the transplant?"

In just 2 months his jaundice worsened and damaged his liver

Sushanth was a cheerful 10-year-old who helped his mother in her daily chores and feed buffaloes soon after he comes from school in their tiny home in Routhupalli, Andhra Pradesh. But 2 months back, he was diagnosed with jaundice. Despite giving medicines after consulting the local doctor, Sushanth’s  jaundice didn’t subside. A few weeks later while his jaundice was still there, they took him to Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, only to find that his liver is completely damaged.

“Sushanth hasn’t been the same happy and cheerful ever since he started having jaundice. And now with his damaged liver, his condition is worsening even more. He always complains about his body pains. He has trouble in breathing. And most of the time, he’s irritated. He yells at us asking why we're giving him medicines every day. We only tell him it's because he's not well. He's too little to understand that his liver is damaged.” - Sirisha Rani, mother

Sushanth is suffering from Wilson's disease, an inherited condition where the liver fails to flush out copper from the body, leading to excess copper buildup in liver hence damaging it. If not treated on time, the copper will flow into kidneys, brain and eyes through bloodstream causing liver failure and brain damage. Sushanth has only one option to recover from this disease - a liver transplant within a week. His mother is most likely going to be the donor.

Bhaskar is struggling to arrange funds for his son’s liver transplant

With his income of Rs 250 per day that he earns as a farmer, Bhaskar could manage looking after his two children including his elder daughter Hepsyba (13) and his wife. But ever since he got to know that Sushanth’s liver is damaged, he’s been asking his neighbors, friends and every one to help him save Sushanth. He could arrange Rs 30,000 with their help but it was only enough for his tests and medicines.

We told the the doctors that we are in no position to arrange such huge amount in such short time. They’ve told us help will come and they’ve set up a fundraiser for our son’s transplant. I have no other option but to completely rely on it. I will be eternally thankful for your help.” - Bhaskar, father

Rs 18 lakhs in just a week, it’s impossible for Bhaskar without your help

If Sushanth doesn’t undergo the transplant within a week, his kidneys and brain will get damaged and he will lose his life. Bhaskar feels helpless as he has run out of options to arrange money for his son’s transplant. He is seeking your help through this fundraiser. Bhaskar can save his son only with your help.
