Ram Sagar, a poor farmer of Gorakhpur having a family of 6 people, was facing a financial crisis due to non-repayment of loans that he took for agricultural purposes. The family could not afford square meals a day and thus his children were undernourished and weak. Surya Foundation identified him during their field visits and helped him procure high yielding 70 saplings of Mango during their Tree Plantation Campaign of 2020. His perseverance to change his family’s situation and guidance of Surya Foundation volunteers in growing those trees, helped him to put a full stop on the poverty. Gradually, the trees started giving fruits which he started selling in the local market and has been able to improve the diet of his children. This is just one example of how your support can create lasting change.

Surya Foundation is excited to launch a Tree Plantation Campaign aimed at transforming the lives of 100 families in rural areas by providing them with fruit-bearing saplings. We believe that by planting these trees, we can create a greener environment while also improving the economic and nutritional well-being of these families. 

In rural areas of Sehore and Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh, many families struggle to make ends meet and often lack access to nutritious food.
