Hi there.. I am Sukhdeep Singh from Ludhiana, Punjab. Since the entire country is locked down and businesses are closed, all people are suffering in this pandemic. But daily wage workers are the most affected ones. Being a Sikh, me and my family decided to serve langar (free food) to these people everyday. So we prepare food daily and then go to places to serve needy ones. But when I actually visited their slums, ground reality is far more worse then I thought. Their sufferings can't be measured, they are in miserable conditions. They got no food, no ration, no soaps and other amenities. So we started providing the same in many remote areas.
Since the lockdown is extending things are going to get more tight for them. Also, this virus is spreading at much more pace than before in Punjab. Big cities like Ludhiana, Jalandhar to name a few have come under red zones.
At present, we provide food to 400-500 people daily. We want to scale this up, so we can serve more. We are planning to serve to nearby villages. We need support from you guys. Please help us serve the society so we can come out of these hard times. This is a humble request from a Sikh to you, so that I can continue this noble custom of "Langar" and serve humanity.
