One small act of faith from you can lead to a giant leap of survival for a soul. My 29 year old husband Subhajit has been fighting from a rare case of INTESTINAL PERFORATION for the past 12 months . The treatment is prohibitively expensive for our current financial situation, and he needs Rs 50,00,000 (approximately $85,000) for his treatment. We have been running from city to city, hospital to hospital for the last 12 months having tried to rescue him in 6 different hospitals. Subhajit has spent around 250+ days so far in the hospital for the last 12 months going under the knife 8+ times. We're trying to raise a portion of that to help him defray the total costs. March ’23 Update : Currently he is admitted in AIG Hyderabad. Just after his admission in Jan’23 , doctors proactively went for a genetic test, and reports stated that he has a vascular ehlers danlos syndrome which is incurable.
He went through a successful intestinal leakage surgery a month back but due to the hassle of being in hospital for 8+ months and going under the knife 8+ times it have had a huge impact on his physical body. Not only has his weight reduced by 40%+; but also the size of small intestine has now significantly reduced and hence he is suffering from nutritional deficiencies which eventually resulted in less generation of haemoglobin and calcium inside his body. Due to this, his legs and arms are getting swollen day by day. He had aggregated similar deficiencies in other organs but he has been extremely motivated to fight all through them for the last one year. But we need another final major operation which is massively required for his survival, where doctors will try to connect the small intestine and colon so that maximum nutrition reaches his body which is essential for his life.
The Story : Growing up, life has never been easy for Subhajit. Having lost his mother at a tender young age as a child; being the only child in the family he had to forego the mother's affection to being the pivot of his family. Despite the setbacks, Subhajit completed his engineering with tremendous obstacles and soon got a job after graduating to become the only bread-winner in the family. Just when the sun seemed to shine on Subhajit while trying to regain stability of the family, he was hit with a stumbling block. On the day of our marriage reception March 6th of last year, he suddenly fell ill which lead to further medical diagnosis. He was initially diagnosed with INTESTINAL PERFORATION which is a very rare condition and affects one in 300,000 people and even lower for his age group.
During the operation he was detected with even a rarer case where his intestinal tissues were found out to be of similar stature of a 70+ year old citizens'. While recovering from the operation, complications arose further due to the fragile state of his tissues and he was asked to use a colostomy bag for excreta purposes which was attached to his stomach region. After some weeks while performing the reverse colostomy, the operation went sideways as it lead to leakage in his intestines due to which nothing could pass through properly through his bowels, let alone proper flow of faeces. He faced a relapse. Further complications arose when he had an auxillary problem of jaundice which lead to an infection in his entire intestine tract leading to irregular blood flow. Since then he has been fighting from Ventilator to ICUs to HDUs to sudden midnight medical intervention. Not only has his weight reduced from 66 kilos to 38 kilos, but also the size of small intestine has now significantly reduced and hence he is suffering from nutritional deficiencies as a result of the exhaustion and lack of solid food for last few months which eventually resulted in less generation of haemoglobin and calcium inside his body. We have even transported him from Kolkata to Hyderabad in our efforts to restart his normal life. We have exhausted all our family savings, insurance claims and co-ordial donations from family and friends during the last 12 months and even sold of ancestral lands.
I request you all to please kindly donate for my husband's cause, if not, my father-in-laws cause and fulfill my father-in-laws dream. He is the only hope to his father, family right now. No father deserves to have her wife and only child taken away at a very young age. Hoping that financial issues do not make a fighter stop fighting. I know my husband is a fighter, has been fighting for last 12 months but this time he needs YOUR FINAL HELP to win the BIGGEST FIGHT OF HIS LIFE! Every penny matters during these critical times.
Thank you.
