    Subedar Giri

    from Pune, Maharashtra

My father is the strength of my family. He is 62 years old. He is a very important person in my life. Over the last 5 years, he has been suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) (Emphysema) and has had to be admitted to the hospital every year over the last 5 years.

My father worked as a heat treatment worker In his previous job as a factory worker. He got diagnosed with this lung disease and was unable to continue working there because of his weak lungs. As a factory worker, he was entitled to Employee State Insurance which covered his medical bills.

Now he works as a security guard and is not entitled to any of these benefits. So every time he is in the hospital we have to pay for the treatment from our savings. Over the years, the treatment has become more expensive because the condition of his lungs has worsened. Our savings now stand at 0 and I’m not sure where to turn to for help. This is why I’m using this platform to ask for money to pay for my father’s treatment while I try to find a job to support my family.

Information about my family

I’m currently in 12th grade and I am going to be giving my board exams this year.  My brother is in his final year of engineering.

Our monthly family income is Rs. 17,000.  My mother works as a cleaning lady in an office and her monthly income is Rs.5000. My father works as a security guard in an office building and has a monthly income of Rs. 12000.

Information about the disease

He has severe Bronchial Spasm and CO2 retention in the lungs. He is currently in the ICU because he is unable to breathe without a non-intrusive ventilator (NIV). He is currently on the NIV and is being treated with antibiotics, steroids and nebulisation.

In the next 30 days, we need Rs.300,000.00 more for medical treatment. Please come forward to support my cause. Any contribution will be of immense help. Do contribute and share this campaign link with your friends and family.
