India's environmental policies, though detailed in theory, frequently lack execution, particularly in peri-urban areas. The rapid growth of cities has resulted in deterioration in these regions marked by problems such as air and water pollution, deforestation, and inadequate waste disposal. The seriousness of these issues is apparent as there is an absence of people participating in and being included in the creation of environmental policies. The insufficient involvement is worsened by the lack of platforms for people to express their opinions and participate in creating lasting solutions. Excluding the youth, who represent a critical of the population of change makers diminishes the opportunity for creative solutions to environmental issues and overlooks the vibrant energy and imagination of this demographic. YEA (Youth Environmental Action) New Delhi seeks to encourage youth participation and increase awareness of existing environmental policies in India through informational resources and tangible impact.

This fundraiser, the YEA Ongoing Education Fund, has been set up to aid Prajna Foundation, a New Delhi-based NGO, in their ongoing work in education and environmental awareness for the youth from underserved communities.
