This is suppose to be a playground. Due to negligence of few of the mennaces this has transformed into a forest. I still remember the days of my childhood with so many memories of this playground. Summers and Monsoon was spent with club football. Autumn, Spring and Winters with Cricket and Volleyball. Football tournaments, Cricket tournaments, Inter-club matches, children's dwelling ground. Endless list of memories of this ground.
Annual Sports Day has almost stopped after the shortage of space on the ground. Rashmi Club has all the right of maintenance of the ground. But due to some people who came into power in between, this ground maintenance was neglected for a couple of years. The consequences are clear in the pictures shared. It is very disheartening.
Results of the negligance, no football in the summers, no cricket in the winters, children are afraid to come to the ground. It has transformed into a breeding ground for the snakes and dangerous insects. The people residing beside the ground are also affected.
At this point of time, the new people who have come to the power of the club is trying to resolve the issue by renovating the whole ground. All the topsoil needs to be removed, new soild needs to be bought for usage, ground needs to be rolled to get a smooth surface, grass needs to be planted, regular watering is needed, fencing is required. This has a huge costing involved, and due to shortage of fund, the club is unable to proceed. An estimate was taken and it was told that an amount of approximately Rs. 3 lacs is required to make a turn-around.
I, as a member of the club, want to plead to all of you to kindly come forward, help reviving the playground, help reviving the old days, help the childrens getting back their right to play. Whatever fund is accumulated, will be transferred directly to the Rashmi Club account.
