SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a nationwide, non-political 48 year old people's movement that pro-actively helps preserve the goodness of India's heritage by organizing beautiful programmes of classical music & dance, folk music & dance, meditation, yoga, cinema classic screenings, talks, heritage walks, craft workshops by eminent artists inside school and college campuses to ignite student interest. Started in 1977 by Padma Shri awardee, Dr Kiran Seth, former Professor at IIT-Delhi, and managed completely by unpaid volunteers, SPIC MACAY organizes 5000 programmes in 800 towns of India and abroad, impacting 2 million students every year.

Every year, SPIC MACAY organizes a week-long residential programme for 1700 school, college, University students from India and abroad during the summer vacation. It's an immersion exercise where a participant experiences every module of SPIC MACAY, while following an intense and rigorous schedule in an ashram-like environment.

All this is offered FREE OF COST to participants in the traditional Indian spirit of giving without expecting! A golden opportunity for students indeed. All this will help to make the experience a memorable one for every student participant. This year, we have planned SPIC MACAY's 10th International Convention from 26th May to 1st Jun 2025 at IIT Hyderabad, India.

The City will host 1700 students at a cost of 1.8 crores INR.
IITH (Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad) has graciously offered their campus and a lot of services. We intend to raise INR 50 Lakh through crowdfunding on Milaap's platform. And the balance through sponsorships.

All donations are eligible for IT80G exemption.

Broad categories for 50Lakh Fund utilization:

The INR 1 crore raised will be utilized for-

1. Artist travel, accommodation, honorarium and care
2. Participant food and stay
3. Local travel for artists, volunteers, participants including for heritage tours
4. Stage, good quality sound and lights plus exhibition arrangements
5. Publicity

SPIC MACAY's core purpose is:

TO HAVE EVERY CHILD EXPERIENCE THE INSPIRATION AND MYSTICISM EMBODIED IN INDIAN AND WORLD HERITAGE. Every child is this country's future. Introducing sensitivity in the child will help make a caring society. Indian arts can do that.
