Soma Neogi, resident of Kolkata, India and a mother of 1 son, India lost her husband Pinaki Neogi who was the sole earning member in her family on 8th of May 2021. Her husband had lost his job due to pandemic few months back and they were running in debt. To their relief, Pinaki recently got a job offer in a hospital in Patna, Bihar, India and the family was looking forward to paying off all their debts. Pinaki had worked in the newly joined hospital only for 2 weeks before developing breathing issue due to COVID. He was immediately admitted in the same hospital he was working for and was diagnosed with acute pneumonia. His lungs were hugely impacted, and he was put on ventilator in a critical state. Soma was in shock to hear news of her husband and she immediately travelled from Kolkata to Patna to support her husband constantly praying to Sai baba whom she follows for his wellbeing and her only hope. Over the next few days, Pinaki's situation deteriorated while he continuously kept worrying about his son and his wife and who would look after them if anything happens to him. He fought through his illness and was very cooperative through his hospitalization. However, it was a lost battle and he succumbed to COVID finally.Soma and her son were completely devasted looking at their only bread earner and emotional support going away. It is completely unbearable for them to deal with this sudden loss in every respect.

Pinkai was a loving person and always helpful. We still remember him breaking and thanking God that he finally had a job and was looking forward to bringing some relief to struggling family and desiring a good education for his son who was very bright in his studies. He was a great father, husband, relative and colleague and nothing can replace this loss.
