    Siya Oraon

    from Jalpaiguri, West Bengal

Four-year-old Siya is too young to understand the gravity of the disease encompassing her body, while her helpless parents are in urgent need of funds, something that'll allow the young girl to undergo a lifesaving operation and treatment.

A resident of Nagrakata in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district, Siya was normal growing up.

However, earlier this year, her parents started noticing an enlargement in the eye.

"Her eyes would be red and we thought it was dust and it'll be alright within a few days," said Akash, the girl's father.

When it didn't become 'alright' as expected, the parents were forced to turn to the doctors for consultancy.

This started a chain reaction that led to doctors coming up with the grave news of a malignant tumour in Siya's brain.

The family has been left shaken in the last four months.

Manila, Siya's mother, had to let go of her job, and a steady income, while settling in the house to take better care of her ailing daughter.

Akash earns a meagre fee working odd jobs, while the family is dependent on the income of Bandhain, Akash's mother and the matriarch.

The family of seven lives on an income of just Rs 3,000 (USD 39) per month. Needless to say, the parents are in need of monetary support.

"Please help us save our daughter. Every time I think about her and our financial condition, my heart skips a beat," said Akash.

Speaking about her granddaughter, Bandhain said the family is struggling to buy medicines for the latter.

"My husband is not alive today. If he was, we would have done better. Please help us save my granddaughter," she added.

According to doctors, Siya's treatment would cost around Rs 20 lakh (USD 26,178).
