Amidst the Corona lockdown, days have become a punishment for the people who live anonymously yet have a direct or indirect impact on our lives.
As per a survey conducted, these are the people who work in the unorganized sectors of our country which is almost 80% of total employment. More than 2 million deprived migrants are walking thousands of miles on road without shelter, without food and water.
There are many horror stories that speak about their tales they are going through these days amid lockdown. They have died on railway tracks, they have given birth on streets and trains, they have children who weep with hunger, they have started the journey on cycles with their family, and they have been beaten and punished with blows by the policemen. These are the people who produce goods in factories, work as laborers building our houses, cook food for us in restaurants. No one knows them yet they are an essential part of our society. They are the people who earn Rs 100/- Rs 300/- daily and do not have any savings to sustain during the lockdown. In despair, they have started walking back home. They are ignored yet living human beings who need us right now. Their voice remains unheard of this political environment and corruption.
We, at SNSS, have come forward to help our fellow friends by distributing foods and essential supplies to these people who are stuck in homes and streets with nothing to feed. We have distributed more than a tonne of food grains and other essentials. We would request you to donate generously. Your donation can feed a hungry person, starved for days.
