Hungry and sick cows on the street are led here to be looked after with love and devotion, total adds up to nearly 700 cows at present.
This service is mostly run by volunteers on donation money. Covid-19 restrictions have meant non-availability of chaara (fodder) for these cows so much as that it is hard to sustain this noble service for too long without financial support from extended community.
Most of these cows are non milking, so we have put together some product manufacturing options made of their cow dung and urine. One such project is to make cowdung logs for funerals. Trees are cut down and used for funerals. This causes deforestation and pollution . Using cowdung logs is environment friendly and extremely beneficial according to our shastras. Around 400 - 500 kgs of wood is used per funeral. Same amount of cowdung is sufficient. And it is said to create oxygen when burnt.
Cows are the last standing pillar to protect our dharma . A cow symbolises simplicity and it is said that their presence emanates that to the universe. As humans it is are duty to protect them.
Please contribute with an open heart to help run this ‘non-profit’ Goshala which will also promote local employment and help the environment.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
