I, Gaurav Jogal, and my co-fellow Riddhi Samarth, are 2 Teach for India fellows who currently teach 72 kids in the 8th grade, at Shankarwadi MPS, a low-income BMC school in Mumbai. Our kids have immense potential and strong values, and they come from underprivileged backgrounds, where most parents are daily wage workers, and the kids are first-generation learners. The lockdown has magnified the problems in their lives - and they are now battling loss of livelihood, trouble to access basic health facilities, and a recurring shortage of food. We are working relentlessly to ensure that in spite of these issues, no child is left behind. We are in dire need of funds to keep online learning going for our children, which includes mobile recharges, worksheet printouts, ration distribution, medical necessities, and classroom supplies. We assure you that each and every penny of your grateful donation will be used for the betterment of these kids and their families, with no personal benefits to us. Please help our kids continue their education with the kind of enthusiasm and positivity that they need. Thank you so much!
