STRAW is an animal welfare organisation that inspires compassion for animals, nature and fellow human beings through its free humane education programs for children at schools and the youth in colleges.

As part of our Compassionate Canine Health Project, we at STRAW have taken up the task of getting the dogs at Sanjay Van in South Delhi sterilized and vaccinated to keep their population under check. The minimum calculated cost required to fund this campaign is Rs. 200,000/-.

Since the beginning of this year, despite the pandemic, we have succeeded in getting 24 dogs sterilized and vaccinated. The cost of the sterilization of one dog is Rs.2000/- (this includes their surgery, transportation and post-operative care). We plan is to cover more dogs in the vicinity and help provide them a safe and healthy life ahead. We also provide support in terms of food and their medical emergencies, if any.

Spreading over 783 acres near Vasant Kunj / Meharauli in South Delhi, Sanjay Van (“Van” means forest in Hindi) is a beautiful forest area that is a home to more than 200 dogs. Other creatures like the nilgai  (blue bull), foxes, pigs, rabbits, peacocks and many species of birds coexist peacefully in this natural habitat.

We need your support to make this Compassionate Canine Health Drive at Sanjay Van a success. Even small contributions would count.
If you wish, you could also donate directly through our website https://www.strawindia.org/donate.aspx. All contributions via the website will be tax exempted under section 80G and receipt will be sent to your email address.
