Loten Nishad was caught in the crossfire of communal hate for merely being a bystander in a discussion over the spread of Coronavirus in India. The incident took place in Prayagraj where 28-year-old Loten happened to be present while a member of his community made certain comments relating to the spread of Coronavirus .

The comments were overheard by the attackers who gathered a mob and attacked Loten merely for belonging to the community of the person who made the remarks. Shot in the head, Loten died on the spot.

Loten’s family consisting of his wife Savita and three children Ananya - 7 years, Anand - 5 years and Aryan - 3 years lives with the family of his elder brother Birju who works as a security guard. This campaign aims to collect INR ten lakh which will be transferred to Savita’s account so that she can support herself and her children.
