Vutavagu is a tribal hamlet located in Khammam district in Telangana State. This is a remote hamlet located in forest region around 15 kms away from nearest village Kamepalli. Around 21 families of Gutti Koya community lives here.
Located in a difficult terrain, these tribes are devoid of health facilities, electricity, food, access to transportation, schools and toilet facilities. In the month of January 2021, a tribal women delivered a baby with help of dai or traditional birth attendent during night. The baby and mother later had to be shifted to health center. This is one such health emergency needs which tribals from this place face day to day.

A baseline survey conducted in this hamlet reported the importance of tribes in guarding the forest area. A few health interventions planned based on the survey report which could assist them to address short term needs and plan for long term needs.
Interventions planned based on survey report include,
1. Refurbishing school and health establishment in tatched roofs with solar lights and equipments
2. Providing training to dai or traditional health attendent in preventive health care like communicable diseases, water, sanitation and hygiene and to encourage tribes to access the avaailable health facility
3. A general survey on health status and assessment of children and tribes to estimate their nutrition intake and underlying health conditions
4. Construction of common community toilets with tap facility
