The world today feels suffocating, streets stink of smoke making its way through our nostrils polluting what is most dear to us , ourselves. As pollution poisons humanity slowly but surely we have done nothing but acted as catalysts in this destruction and continue to do so.
I am Ribhav Chopra and i feel like there is so much we can do as a community to mend our ways and in the end benefit from it ourselves. I had started filling my college applications which led me to join various groups and organisations working for our community, at first it all seemed dull and lifeless but as i did more and more projects i developed an interest in community work and service.
The sad part was that many students in my school and around the city want to participate but do not know what to do and whom to approach.
Through my organisation i aim to undertake as many people as possible and mostly young boys and girls to participate in projects regularly which are aimed at uplifting the society and surroundings we live in. From planting trees to creating awareness about topics less spoken about and generating employment for the needy, we aim to leave a mark on the society, a good one indeed.
The funds that have been requested for are for a tree plantation drive which we have planned over the course of an year, our aim is to plant atleast 1,00,000 trees in and around the city which requires a large group of supporters and volunteers.
The money we raise will be used to pay for labour ,tree guards, transportation of trees and saplings, material required for sowing and watering the plants and for the purchase of the trees over the course of the project.
The first round of the drive will take place in July and we aim to plant as much as 10,000 trees, the completion of which will give us a large team of people and the confidence to go through with this endeavour and embark on many to come. The spare funds from this will also support my other project which includes generating employment for women in rural areas by stitching bags to replace plastic bags.
