HappyHands

My name is Ribhav and i am currently 17 years old, i had just started preparing for my SAT when i met my teacher, who was an avid social worker and had co ordinate many projects especially for girls and women in and around the city. A group of women in the Rotary Club Jalandhar used to collect clothes(shirts, jeans,t shirts.etc) and give them to women in the city who stitched them into bags which were later sold in the vegetable market as a substitution for plastic bags. This arrangement provided those who stitched a passive but much needed income which instills in them confidence as well as self sufficiency while also contributing to the war against plastics.
My idea is directly inspired by their efforts and on a larger scale, with a team of about 12 classmates and about 50+ volunteers i want to provide as many women as possible a platform to earn.
The 50,000 will be used as a kickstarter to buy a few machines and chairs for a comfortable working environment as well as an initial amount to pay them before sales start and also to maintain online websites as we aim to keep most of the sales online therefore reducing costs.the amount will also help main tan running costs such as electricity and food.
Although we require a much larger amount to match the targets we have set this amount as it is sufficient enough to get us started. The dream does not end here as with time and as we gain certain momentum we will have evening or night schools for the community we will have created and also fuel my other endeavour of planting 100000 trees in the city.

Dear Supporters,

Here's a quick update:

Our first project took places in a colony where two barren plots were planted with 100 trees in two hours. It took us a week to level, clean and make the land fit for plantation as it was previously covered with building material and debris. A total of six hours of JCB leveling and more than five trolleys of debris and waste material was removed and then finally planted with 100 trees by our volunteers on 8th of July.

The bills and expenses will be uploaded after all the projects are done.
