Hello kind people!!
I am Aditi and I run a shelter/rehab for animals in a small village in Dombivali (outskirts of Mumbai, India). As of today we are running at a capacity of 160 plus animals that include sick, injured, paralysed, motherless, blind and abandoned cats & dogs. We also get community animals vaccinated and sterilized. We are facing a lot of backlash in our current shelter space due to our unkind neighbors and battling major space crunch.
Dear Kind Supporters, we have indentified a new rented shelter space to keep our inhouse resident disabled, abandoned and old dogs & cats. We are taking this space on a long term rent. The primary shelter space will stay and will be used to keep rescues that require treatment.
The reason why we have decided to get a rented space is because we have not been able to reach anywhere near our goal amount to get our land. We keep getting harassed by our neighbors every now and then. The movement of dogs have restricted due to constant complaints from our neighbors and we have not been able to even take the dogs out for their daily walks . We totally believe that dogs should get to live freely and confining them will only affect their mental health.
The current shelter premise is growing smaller by the day, as we keep getting animals that cannot be released back to the streets. These include paralysed, disabled, blind, senior and terminally ill dogs and cats.
We have taken this rented land for a minimum 5 year agreement and we are hoping we can acquire our own land in the coming years.

- Getting water tanks and getting plumbing work.
- Building a clean washroom and bathroom
- Building kitchen area, storage space, staff room and washing area.
- Getting electronics like freezer/washing machine/refrigerator/cctv cameras/power back up etc
- Electrical work that Will include buying fans/tubelight/flood lights etc
- Amount for security deposit (2 lakh rupees).
- Amount for rent (60 thousand rupees per month)
