My name is Ramamurthy and I am 37 years-old. I work as a Welder for my daily earning and now I had to stop working because of my illness. I am here to raise fund for myself to undergo a life-saving operation. I live in Tamil Nadu with my wife & 18 month-old daughter.

Last month I had an emergency operation for severe unbearable pain in my stomach. In this operation to save my life the doctors had to remove nearly all my small intestine and half of my large intestine because they were dead due to blood clot causing blockage of the blood vessel supplying them. They have also brought ends of the intestines to the outside which is covered by a transparent bag. This causes most of what I eat or drink to come outside to a bag. This is preventing me from having any nutrition, a condition called as “short bowel syndrome”. Although Intestinal transplant would be the best possible treatment, doctors feel joining the remaining bowel back again might give me a possibility of being able to eat again. The cost of small intestine transplant is beyond my level and I also don’t want to have such a big operation now.

Until now, I have spent about Rs. 3,00,000, which I had arranged through savings, loans & selling assets. I am currently admitted due to dehydration causing kidney problem which is costing me a lot of money.

In the next 30 days, I need Rs. 5,00,000 more for the next stage operation and medicines.
