My friend (Ramadas) daughter Anamika is diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer and admitted at Wellcare hospital, Kochin. Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a rare cancer that forms in soft tissue, specifically skeletal muscle tissue or sometimes in hollow organs. RMS can occur at any age, but it most often affects children. Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Initially she had admitted at Regional cancer center, Trivandrum for treatment.  Doctors were constantly trying to reduce the size of the tumor through radiation and chemotherapy and later part surgery was planned but that was not fully success. There are some complications for the surgery as the tumor is spreaded across the intestine and that needs to reduced before.

We decided to meet Dr. P.V. Ganghadharan a famous pediatric oncologist practicing in multiple hospitals across Kerala. CT scan has been taken by  the doctors and gave us hope back and they started again altogether the chemotherapy cycles. She is undergoing multiple stages of chemotherapy at this hospital currently.

The estimated cost is 20 Lakhs as of now for the treatment which includes chemotherapy and surgery.
