Galina (spouse) and myself (Daniel) along with our dogs moved to the picturesque hill town of Tamenglong in Manipur from our busy lives of Mumbai in 2014. Located amidst beautiful hilly forests, Tamenglong is difficult to reach. It is 150 km from the state capital of Imphal and the terrain is difficult. Because of its remote location, the district is bereft of amenities like veterinary hospitals and medicines. We had to face this harsh truth when our dogs got sick and could not be treated on time. That is when we decided to build an animal rescue center in Tamenglong, so that no other innocent life is lost due to non-availability of emergency care. Wild animals often lose their way from surrounding forests and are found by local residents who immediately get in touch with us to rehabilitate them.

Since 2017, We have rescued animals like Bay Bamboo Rats, Pangolins, Asian forest tortoise, Leaf turtles, leopard cats, and birds like Great Barbets, Spider catcher, Great-eared Nightjar and Drongo. We bring these animals to our house, clean them, offer first aid and release them back to the wild in coordination with the Manipur Forest Department.

Our love for animals made us train ourselves in animal rescue and first-aid. We receive several calls from residents of Tamenglong whenever they come across a hurt or lost animal. We are working to build a larger animal rescue and treatment centre around our house so that animals have a bigger space to recuperate. However, we  need an animal rescue and release vehicle to reach the animal and safely escort it back. Up until now, we were hiring vehicles which is quite an expensive affair. It’s about time we have our own vehicle on standby at any given time.

We need an amount of 4,00,000 INR to buy this vehicle. The funds raised by your support will help us procure this vehicle that can act as a safe and cozy transport mode for a hurt or lost animal. Your support, no matter how small, can go a long way in ensuring an animal's safety and well-being.
