About Pallium India

Pallium India (www.palliumindia.org), a Non-Governmental Organization, has been a pioneering organization in the field of Palliative Care in India. In line with the principles of Universal Health Coverage, we are committed to reaching the patient where they are and when they need it. Our teams currently deliver care to over 4000 patients a year through Homecare, Inpatient, and Outpatient services.
Pallium India has been at the forefront of promoting palliative care. We do so by directly providing services in and around Trivandrum, including engaging with local communities. Our flagship facility Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences (TIPS) is a WHO Collaborating Centre for Training and Policy on Access to Pain Relief. Our work in Trivandrum has guided efforts across India and beyond. We proactively disseminate learnings through in-person and online education and advocate for policy and programs and implementation at the community, state, national and international level.

Pallium India's patients and their families need to be protected on a priority basis. In the next 2 months, we will have to administer the second dose vaccination for all of them. Many bedridden patients cannot be easily transported safely to vaccination sites. So we deliver the vaccination shots as part of home care visits. Including the cost of the vaccine and its administering expenses, each shot costs around Rs 850. We have a shortage of funds for about 500 patients.

We are also trying to find support for rehabilitating 10 families under the program of 'Ujjwal' to empower women in the households where the main breadwinner is disease-ravaged. This involves seed money for petty shops, livestock rearing, and teaching vocational skills that ensure a steady income. On average, it costs around Rs 30,000/family to successfully fund and guide them to a stable condition.

Your contribution will immensely help us to respond to this crisis and reach out to those in need.
Your support towards our vaccination/ rehabilitation service will help us do more and do better. On behalf of each and every one of us at Pallium India - you have our heartfelt gratitude.
