Visiting the Orphanage for Senior Citizen located at Dehugaon is not a pleasant experience. These are seniors who have lost their Memory or are Paralytic or Deaf or Visually impaired with no home or any relatives.Santosh Joy & his Wife take care of 20 such people.
They have taken on lease 2000 sq ft plot and there are 6 rooms with tin sheets as the roof. Very basic facility.
The most thought-provoking experience is the caretaker himself is a poor man. Yet the way this couple takes care of these inmates is unbelievable.
We could give them Moti Soaps, Biscuits and a few bottles of hair oil. 5 of the inmates need adult diapers 3 each daily.
This is a huge cost for them.
