A Devoted husband - Naresh, is currently struggling for survival due to complications arising from kidney RCC cancer.
Medical History:
- In 2015, he was diagnosed with Kidney RCC cancer.
- Upon surgery, one kidney was removed along with the cancer tumor.
- Post surgery, Every 3-6 months PET scans were repeated to assess the spread of cancer.
- Unfortunately in 2018, in the latest PET scan report, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
- Reports suggested that Cancer had spread on the lymph nodes, thorax, neck and spine.
- After consulting doctors, we had to start an expensive Oral targeted chemo therapy medicine.
- By July 2021, the cancer had grown in the lower spinal cord area and he experienced unbearable pain to which the doctor had prescribed heavy painkillers such as Ultracet, Vovron and Morphine.
- The suffering worsened, and since the heavy dose of morphine was not recommended for a longer period, the doctor suggested to do a local radiation.
- In Aug 2021, post radiation, his platelet count and hemoglobin count dropped.
- He also started experiencing chills and breathlessness and the lower back pain continued.
- Upon analysis by the doctor, it was discovered that the oxygen saturation levels dropped from 95 to 75.
- In Sep 2021, he was admitted to HCG hospital (Specialist in Cancer care) and was diagnosed with:
1) Diastolic dysfunction, Grade III Heart failure with Sepsis + Lower respiratory tract infection + Bilateral Pleural Effusion
2) K/C/O Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma with Liver, Skeletal Metastases, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism.
3) Recent Diabetes Mellitus Type II
- The patient was then transferred to Thunga Hospital under the care of a lung specialist and cardiologist.
- On 10th Sept 2021, he suffered breathlessness, and by performing bronchoscopy, the doctors identified it to a bacterial infection (named as Negative Gram Coccobacilli) in the lungs.
- Through this process, he has been in intensive care unit since 9th September.
Doctors aren't able to predict the timeline of recovery as it is a rare and a critical condition.
Every day in intensive care unit and on bipap is making the treatment exorbitantly expensive.
Naresh is a true family man who always put his family first, and now his family is doing all they can to get him home fit and fine.
On behalf of Naresh's family, we request you to donate as much as you can to support his recovery.
Any contribution will be highly appreciated.
