I've faced a lot of challenges in setting up this initiative. people have refused to offer me space and I was always called a beggar or a sex worker. After struggling for months ,I was Finally offered a place at ganondanahalli by a sweet lady. I pledge all my jewelry to ensure proper living conditions for the people that were to come .
-Nakshatra, Founder, Nammane sumanne
Even before the NGO was registered, Nakshatra faced several hurdles due to stigma and discrimination. Once they were able to begin, the lockdown set them back. During this time, Nakshatra sold all her jewelry and used her saving to run the NGO . Nakshatra then joined the trans community and started begging on the streets of Bangalore for a living. However, this is not the life she wanted for herself .it was Nakshatra's sheer will and determination that got her through some of the most difficult days of her life , And once she was able to stand on her own feet Nakshatra started Nammane summane - an NGO Helping the Homeless.

As there are Differently-abled people also present, we've ensured that proper care and medication are provided to everyone of them. My Volunteers are My pillars of strength. I want to continue to help the needy in my NGO and also expand my Support to other homeless people. But after investing all I had into this project, I'm now broke and helpless. and so is everyone at the Ngo.
