The global crisis triggered by the spread of COVID-19 pandemic has hit everyone alike in the world. But, worst are the disabled, who cannot even access the support system available. The bigger problem here, is that the sufferers are blind girls who need support to be safe.

The NAB India Centre for Blind Women in Delhi trains hundreds of adult blind girls and some boys in a year belonging to poor section to start earning livelihoods and sustain themselves. These girls stay in the Centre hostel in 3 batches of 35-40 throughout the year. The few boys however stay outside in rented accommodations. With the lockdown, all are stuck beyond their training time.

We need some urgent support to keep our present resident blind students, safe and healthy in the wake of the subsistence crisis. We supported them till now with stay facility and with our food stocks but, we are now running out of support. This appeal is for food and cash contribution for the 50 visually impaired people staying at the centre’s hostel and other accommodations, who were receiving training.

To provide three regular meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) a day, the total cost of all these meals per day for 50 people with other expenses comes to be Rs. 7,500 approximately. We are preparing to take care of them for a month and the  expenditure for the food would be Rs. 2,25,000.0

How do we use the money?

The break up for one day simple meals cost for 50 people are as under:

a.       Breakfast-   Rs. 2,000 (Rs.40 per head)
b.       Lunch-   Rs. 2,500  (Rs. 50 per head)
c.        Evening tea-  Rs. 500 (Rs. 10 per head)
d.       Dinner-  Rs. 2,500   (Rs. 50 per head)
