N Chandrashekar, known as “Chandru” to many of us, met with a tragic road traffic accident in Feb 2021 and has suffered a devastating brain injury. Despite best efforts from medical and neurosurgical teams in Mysore, he is now unfortunately in a permanent "vegetative state" and is heavily dependent on personal care. Despite the best efforts from his family, friends, and doctors, progress is slow and directionless except Chadru once in a while blinks his eye to his name “Shekhar”. The family has not lost hope and continues to try every day hoping for the best.

Chandru was in the Indian Army and served as Sepoy till 2011, with multiple frontline postings including Kargil. Chandru recently worked as a security guard at a local automobile company in Mysore until he met with this tragic incident.

He is 45 years old and hails from Mysore, Karnataka. He was the sole breadwinner for his family comprising of his wife, daughter (22yrs) & son (18 yrs) This event has left the family struggling with expenses such as home care, housing loan, daughter to marry, and son’s college expenses.

It is very unfortunate that someone who has always put his own life at stake to serve the country and to help others in need is in a situation where he needs all the love, help, and support that he can get now. As close family and friends, we are looking to raise funds to help meet some of the expenses towards Chandru’s daily cares and securing the family’s future.
