    This fundraiser will benefit

    Mrs Debojani Bhuyan Sarmah

    from Sonitpur Assam

My name is Kalpita Nath, a student of Grade X who has created this campaign with the intention of raising funds for Mrs.Debojani Bhuyan, a housewife and social worker from a small town in Assam’s Sonitpur district. She is being devastated by Ovarian and uterus cancer thrice. She is strong; a true fighter who has fought back to recover from it twice, once through radiation and chemotherapy, and the second time through the removal of her uterus via surgery. Her misfortune however, welcomed it back into her life once again a few months back. The devastation hit harder this time with all their finances exhausted and drained from the first two treatments .

She has one son~ hardworking, academically bright and still in his early college days and a husband who is unfortunately unemployed due to the current Covid situation. They have already sold all their ancestral properties, tried all possible sources of borrowing, and now only hold back their little abode, their safe space.

The doctor has suggested that she goes for chemo sessions, but the family in no possible way to afford it. She could not afford more than 1 session (costing ~70000INR) and had to go back to her town from Guwahati medical college. They don't have any funds left to stay in Guwahati or get her admitted to the hospital.

As per the estimation (attached) a staggering sum of Rs. 3,66,000 is urgently needed in a month’s span to keep some hope alive for her third consecutive treatment. The transportation and accommodation charges have not been included. Once again, the surgery may require another Rs.5 to 6 Lakhs (can only be decided as the course progresses) as per the doctor.

She has the mental strength and the resolute to fight again but alas the financial crisis is weakening her state for the worse. She wants to continue the fight and win the battle yet once again to come back home to her beloved family.

She is looking out for a kind-hearted soul like you to support her and help her fight this battle. I, being a student, only heard of such hardships from my parents and grandparents. I still see their struggles to support many fundraising campaigns as such, with no ability to ever say no to any help from the needy. I want to take this initiative and help Mrs. Debojani to mobilize the fund as soon as possible by provoking ur empathy through the campaign.

Let’s give up on just a single weekend dine out or a simple purchase for mere pleasure or even a little bit of expenses. I have taken the decision of preventing unnecessary expenses until funds for her recovery have been made, trying to donate the little bits and pieces I can collect on my own.

May God not give any of us such a dreadful situation to deal with. We are very fortunate to live in a healthy and good condition, whereas many are not fortunate enough. Let's part away a bit of our wealth to extend help to the needy as we have a chance to make their life better with something so small.

The fund collected will be used for treatment only and all account’s/ bills’ progress will be updated here:
Hospital Bills
Post-operative care
Medicines, Lab test etc
Doctor's Consultation Charges

She says "I have not lost hope yet. There are ample kind-hearted angels of God out in this world and my hope of being alive will revive. I am very strong and am willing to fight and win this battle for the 3rd time and many more times. But I can't help but see my husband, son, and poor relatives helpless faces. You are my hope, faith and I am strong to fight and win back my life. God bless you all with abundance.” So please do not hesitate to donate a small amount because you never know the impact it makes in someone’s life.

I kindly request you to contribute to her treatment and help her during this time of need. Every one of your contributions matter!  Kindly also share the fundraiser with your family and friends with a personal note being genuine and help me reach the goal amount! We are grateful for your help!
