I'm looking to ₹70,000 to support my expenses for travelling to the Philippines on Nov 2022. Majority of the expenses will be self-funded. However, I'm a little short, and any support will be appreciated to help make this dream a reality!

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does.” – Nelson Mandela Ultimate Frisbee Club Team - Spinergy Ultimate Frisbee is a self-refereed team sport, known for its spirit of sportsmanship and respect amongst players which has been gradually becoming widespread in India.  Tournaments being held throughout the country have been getting tougher and more competitive; but all the while encouraging the ‘Spirit of the game’. Hence, it’s not a surprise that this game is becoming popular in Auroville as it has similar values of honesty, integrity, respect and equity.
Ultimate Frisbee is a relatively new and unknown team sport but it distinguishes itself from other sports in revolutionary ways. Designed to promote not only athleticism, but character and sportsmanship; it combines values of fair play, self-control, personal responsibility, mutual respect between opponents along with speed, agility, and the various skills required to play a sport.  Various Tournaments are held throughout the country to bring different ultimate communities together to play this game on varying terrains: dry, grass or sand.
Auroville Ultimate was formed around 2007, and has grown since then in strength, skill, popularity and numbers, receiving many ‘Spirit of the Game’ awards. It presently has a rating among the top 5 teams in India. We have had two teams in Auroville with around 30-40 players from different backgrounds, men and women; kids and adults playing together; as well as visiting players and guests.
We are a sports club and our training sessions (2-3 hours 3-6 times a week) include fitness, skills, drills, and game time.
We conduct workshops for children and teenagers of Auroville and outreach schools, as well as a leadership program for young women from other Indian states; encouraging sportsmanship and good spirit through this team sport while trying to keep an attitude of humility and constant learning in a competitive atmosphere.
All our players are exposed to people from across the country once a year during the Auroville Hat Tournament that we host in February and all the other Ultimate Players Association of India’s tournaments in different parts of India. As our Ultimate players in Auroville are mostly young and often without the means to participate annually in the several tournaments that take place throughout India and since there is not much funding or sponsoring for this young sport yet unlike others (even though it is steadily growing nationally), our players contribute on a monthly basis to save up and to be able to attend these tournaments each of which is a big learning experience.
We encourage all learning opportunities as well as taking responsibility teaching within the team. We have both attended and  conducted various courses on different subjects, primarily bridging differences between people.
We look forward to the team learning, changing and growing as we go while retaining the internal Spirit of both frisbee and Auroville.
