Help Create Awareness For The Importance Of Adventure Education

Hi all, I am Mitesh Singh, from Ranchi- Jharkhand. In 2014 I decided to quit my job and do something new. I moved to Himalayas for few years and started taking part in small adventures. I complete my mountaineering course and decided to work in school where I can teach students the importance of experiential learning.

Currently I am working as a leadership trainer in a school in Bangalore. I have been training children since 2014 with outdoor activities and experiential learning. I have trained students from many schools in India like Indus International School, Stonehill, National Center for Excellence, Srivani, Glendale, Selaqui International Schhol, Indian Public School and many more.

I have been training them on leadership skills and other important aspects of a true leader like self-awareness, mental toughness and self-discipline. All these are very important to understand to grow as a successful leader.

I have taken students on different expeditions to develop their self belief and confidence. It also give them them the opportunity to experience the vastness of opportunities which is available to see, understand and experience new things. The have led expeditions to Mt. Kilimajaro, Everest Base Camp, Har ki Dun, and many other mountains in Himalayas.

I realized that not many schools are giving these opportunities to their students. They are just spending their time in classroom and books. However, I believe that outdoor education is as important as classroom education.

I have decided to take this expedition to cycle down from Mumbai to Ho Chi Minh and talk in school to make outdoor education as part of their education.
The sense of exploration within and ‘without’ is the key to personal and professional growth. And to To promote adventure-based leadership education as a part of curriculum to build character and charisma among students.

However, to successfully complete this expedition, I need financial support. And this is the reason I am putting my story on Milaap. As this expedition is for 6 months and I need support for the expenses which will be done in equipment’s, food and stay on the way. I have kept the cost as low and possible and looking for support through Milaap.

I hope I will get the support to complete this journey and pass my message to as many people as possible. Thank You (Mitesh)
