I am Menka Gunjyal from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand(India). I am a student and a Passionate Skier and a Mountaineer.
I am a national champion in skiing. I have enough potential to go for international level but I need proper equipments and training for that so that I can practice and represent India internationally.

I'm aiming to successfully attain a joint goal in maintaining the national flag in the international arena of Skiing and Mountaineering by the young women from a rural background of Gunji Village, Dharchula(Pithoragarh) Uttarakhand.
*Gold Medalist in 3rd SKI MOUNTAINEERING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2020-21 held at Gulmarg (J&K) in the month of March 2021.
*Participated in The National Ski and Snowboard Championship 2020 held at Auli (Uttarakhand) in the month of February 2020.
*Participated in South Asian Winter Games, Auli (2011).
*Gold Medal (Sub-Junior Skiing) in The Winter Sports Championship, Auli (2000).

I would like to tell you some of my achievements and records which are given below :
*Gold Medalist in Mountaineering Skiing in The National Winter Games, Khelo India 2021-22 held at Gulmarg (J&K) in the month of February 2021.*Gold Medalist in 3rd SKI MOUNTAINEERING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2020-21 held at Gulmarg (J&K) in the month of March 2021.
*Participated in The National Ski and Snowboard Championship 2020 held at Auli (Uttarakhand) in the month of February 2020.
*Participated in South Asian Winter Games, Auli (2011).
*Gold Medal (Sub-Junior Skiing) in The Winter Sports Championship, Auli (2000).

Mountaineering Expeditions and Social Welfare :
*All Women Expedition from Darma Valley (Uttarakhand) to Gabbei Top at 4000 metres altitude in 2019.
*Expedition from Vyas Valley to Darma Valley (Sela Pass) at 5100 metres altitude in 2020.
*Under Flagship of Climbing Beyond The Summit, the 9 member Team undertook a rescue mission at Kulagad, Dharchula flood affected area in July 2021 and made a safe rope system to enable 5000 people to cross in 4 days. The Team also assisted in ferrying supplies for the paramilitary force.
*Expedition in August 2021, Pir Panjal range, Yuman mountain (height 6111mts)
*An alpine expedition by only two people i.e. me and my guide to Peak Kangytse2 (6250metres) at Markha valley Leh in October 2021

Why this campaign..??
My family has borne all the expenses of my said games since childhood. But in today's environment and according to the level of competition internationally, the expenditure of this game has increased a lot for proper training and practice, which now my family is not able to fully bear it. Lack of resources for practice also remains a hindrance in my path. Therefore, through "Milap Crowd Funding" I request all of you and hope that all of you will cooperate in achieving this goal of mine.I assure all of you that I will try my best to win medals at international level by working tirelessly in this sports competition.So my humble request to all of you is to kindly help me as much as possible for the mission. Even your smallest contribution will be a step towards my goal for me.

मैं मेनका गुंज्याल एक सीमांत गांव गुंजी जिला पिथौरागढ़ राज्य उत्तराखंड से हूं।
गुंजी गांव जो कि भारत ( उत्तराखंड ) के कुमाऊं मण्डल के आखिरी सीमा (नेपाल और तिब्बत) में स्थित है, जिससे काली नदी की धारा हमको हमारे पड़ोसी नेपाल हिंदू राष्ट्र से जोड़ती है ।
मैं स्कीइंग में नेशनल चैंपियन हूं। मेरे पास अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर जाने की पर्याप्त क्षमता है लेकिन इसके लिए मुझे उचित उपकरण और प्रशिक्षण की जरूरत है ताकि मैं अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अभ्यास और भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व कर सकूं।
स्किंग एक शीत कालीन खेल है, जिसके अभ्यास एवं विभिन्न राष्ट्रीय स्कींग खेलों में प्रतिभाग हेतु मुझे अलग-अलग क्षेत्र जैसे, औली (उत्तराखंड), मनाली (हिमाचल -प्रदेश), गुलमार्ग (जम्मू-कश्मीर) आदि स्थानों में जाना पड़ता है। इसी क्रम में वर्ष २०२१ में आयोजित राष्ट्रीय खेलो इंडिया प्रतियोगिता के अंतर्गत मैने गुलमर्ग में अपने उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन से स्वर्ण पदक प्राप्त कर अपने देश एवं अपने राज्य उत्तराखंड का गौरवमान रखने का पूर्ण प्रयास किया। मेरा लक्ष्य यह है कि मैं अथक परिश्रम से इस खेल में और अच्छा प्रदर्शन कर अंतराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर हमारे देश का नाम पूरे विश्व के पटल पर चिह्नित करु । जिसके लिए आप सभी की सहायता प्रार्थनीय है।
बचपन से ही मेरी रुचि पार्वतारोहण एवं स्कींग के खेल में रही है जिसके परिणाम स्वरूप मैने अपने जीवन का पहला स्वर्ण पदक ७ वर्ष की आयु में स्कींग खेल में प्राप्त किया था ।
आज तक मैंने उक्त खेलों में निम्नलिखित उपलब्धियां प्राप्त करी हैं -
१.राष्ट्रीय शीतकालीन खेलों में पर्वतारोहण स्कीइंग में स्वर्ण पदक विजेता, खेलो इंडिया 2021-22 फरवरी 2021 के महीने में गुलमर्ग (जम्मू-कश्मीर) में आयोजित किया गया
२.मार्च 2021 के महीने में गुलमर्ग (जम्मू-कश्मीर) में आयोजित तीसरी स्की पर्वतारोहण राष्ट्रीय चैंपियनशिप 2020-21 में स्वर्ण पदक विजेता।
३.फरवरी 2020 के महीने में औली (उत्तराखंड) में आयोजित राष्ट्रीय स्की और स्नोबोर्ड चैम्पियनशिप 2020 में भाग लिया।
४.दक्षिण एशियाई शीतकालीन खेलों, औली (2011) में भाग लिया।
५.विंटर स्पोर्ट्स चैंपियनशिप, औली (2000) में स्वर्ण पदक (सब-जूनियर स्कीइंग)।
६. हाल ही में 13 मार्च 2022 को मैंने जम्मू कश्मीर (गुलमर्ग) में स्थित पीर पंजाल रेंज, शार्क फिन चोटी (जिसकी ऊंचाई ४३००मीटर से अधिक है) से सफलतापूर्वक सबमिट और स्की डाउन किया है
पर्वतारोहण अभियान और समाज कल्याण कार्य :
१.2019 में 4000 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर दारमा घाटी (उत्तराखंड) से गब्बी टॉप तक सभी महिला अभियान।
२.2020 में व्यास घाटी से 5100 मीटर ऊंचाई पर दारमा घाटी (सेला दर्रा) तक अभियान।
३. 9 सदस्यीय टीम ने जुलाई 2021 में कुलगड, धारचूला बाढ़ प्रभावित क्षेत्र में एक बचाव अभियान चलाया और 4 दिनों में 5000 लोगों को नदी पार करने में सक्षम करने के लिए एक सुरक्षित रस्सी प्रणाली बनाई। टीम ने अर्धसैनिक बल के लिए आपूर्ति की आपूर्ति में भी सहायता की।
४.अगस्त 2021 में अभियान पीर पंजाल रेंज, युमान पर्वत (ऊंचाई 6111 मीटर) और अक्टूबर 2021 में मार्खा घाटी लेह में पीक कांग्यत्से 2 (6250 मीटर) के लिए केवल दो लोगों यानी मैं और मेरे गाइड द्वारा एक अल्पाइन अभियान सकुशल पूर्ण किया।

12. ओम पर्वत ट्रैक (4800मीटर)
यह अभियान क्यों..??
बचपन से आज तक मेरे उक्त खेलों का सारा व्यय मेरे परिवार ने वहन किया है। किंतु आज के परिवेश में एवं प्रतियोगिता के स्तर के अनुरूप उचित प्रशिक्षण एवं अभ्यास हेतु इस खेल का व्यय काफी बड़ गया है जिसे अब मेरा परिवार पूर्णतया वहन नहीं कर पा रहा है। अभ्यास हेतु संसाधनों की कमी भी मेरे मार्ग में बाधा बनी हुई है। अतएव, मैं "मिलाप क्राउड फंडिंग" के माध्यम से आप सभी अनुरोध एवं आशा करती हूं की आप सभी मेरे इस लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने में सहयोग करेंगे। मैं आप सभी को विश्वास दिलाती हूं कि मैं इस खेल प्रतियोगिता में अथक परिश्रम कर अंतराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पदक जीतने की पूर्ण प्रयास करूंगी।
