What is Team Petrolheads?
A team of 25 budding mechanical engineering students from Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur that builds an all terrain vehicle to compete in BAJA SAE India.
What is Team Agroheads?
Team Agroheads is a sister team of Team Petrolheads that's working towards the development of a self propelled onion harvester to participate in TIFAN SAE India.
What is BAJA SAE INDIA?
BAJA (pronounced Baa-Haa) SAE India is an intercollegiate design competition where student teams design, analyze, manufacture, test, market and race an all terrain vehicle.
BAJA is the most happening engineering competition in the country where student teams across the globe participate with a dream of earning the top step of the podium.
What is TIFAN SAE India?
TIFAN stands for Technology Innovation Forum for Agriculture Nurturing and is an agricultural automation competition. The competition seeks budding engineering minds of the country to build a compact, efficient and cost effective self propelled onion harvester. WIT Solapur would be participating for the first time in this competition.
What do we need funds for?
Building vehicles for leaving a mark in these competitions requires a high budget. Apart from the manufacturing and material procurement costs, the team expenditure involves registration costs, travel costs and vehicle transportation costs.
