The girls aged 10-18 years from families of daily labourers, construction workers, single mothers, and fish vendors/street vendors are studying in Government Schools. Due to limited income and some non-wage days in a month, the parents cannot bear the expenses of the education material of their girl children; this leads to the girls dropping out of school or low attendance in classes. The school drop-out girls stay at home, doing housekeeping, working for siblings/elderly care,
The poorest families looking their children as an income source; hence they put the girls in daily wage work; this will lead to continuing the child labour system. The parents feel that making expenses for girls' education is nothing but wasting their money, therefore trying to make early marriages to the girls or convert them into domestic workers.
We identified the girls from these families who dropped out of school due to the lack of financial support and struggling to continue their education. This initiative supports them in continuing their education year-long; we provide educational materials like notebooks, uniforms, shoes, pens, pencils, and tuition fees for better education.
The project’s objective is to access education without interruption by the girls and improve their quality of life; simultaneously, the project provide career guidance and life skill education to make the girls stronger and achieve their life goals. with the support of kind-hearted donors Mahila Margadarshi sponsor the notebooks, uniforms, shoes, pens, pencils, and tuition fees. The project also enhance their knowledge of health, child protection, child marriages, trafficking, abuse, and sexual harassment as well and promote a bright future for the girls.
