As many of you may be aware, my mother Lazarine Goveia is being treated for Mucormycosis (post-Covid black fungus infection) at Ruby Hall Clinic, Wanowrie, Pune. 

The cost of only the anti-fungal medication i.e. Liposomal Amphotericin B injections is ~INR 50,000 ($670) per day (daily dose of 300mg. Each 50mg vial costs ~INR 8,000 ($107)) and my mother needs to complete a 28 day course of this medication in hospital, which will total ~INR 14 lacs ($19,000). This is in addition to the cost of hospitalization, surgery (FESS, done on 23rd June), and doctors charges/medicines/misc. hospital expenses.
