With schools shut down all over the country due to the COVID-19 crisis, and likely to remain shut for another 2-3 months, the classroom teaching and learning time will be highly reduced. Children, especially ones from disadvantaged backgrounds like Rani and Komal, are vulnerable to losing all learning gains made in the past year due to the extended school closure.
There is an urgent need to utilize the period from June to August 2020 to give a head start to these children before they start a truncated school year.

Digital learning has been widely hailed as the best solution to provide continuing education in these times.
However, there exists a great digital divide, and e-learning opportunities are available to only about 15% of rural households in India.

The remaining 85% of households either do not have smartphones or data connectivity to make online learning possible for their children.

LLF runs learning improvement projects in Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan for young children in grades 1 and 2. Approximately 25,000 children in these projects have no access to online or smartphone-based learning.

Our Solution
LLF has developed a detailed strategy in collaboration with state governments to ensure home-based learning for these 25,000 children from disadvantaged communities with minimum reliance on technology.

How Can You Help?

The pandemic has already claimed much of life as we knew it. Let’s make sure that it does not claim our children’s learning too. We have made a commitment to ensure that Rani, Komal, and thousands of other children like them continue on the path of education and make up for the lost school time. Join us in our commitment and help us fulfill our promise to them.

About Us

LLF was founded in 2015 with the goal of improving learning outcomes of children in government primary schools by improving the teaching and learning process of language and literacy in grades 1 to 3. LLF presently works with 7 state governments and will be able to impact classroom teaching of over 600,000 teachers and improve learning of 4.5 million children by 2025. LLF’s three-pronged strategy focuses on continuous professional development of teachers and teacher educators through a variety of blended courses, (b) implementation of school-level demonstration for learning improvement, and (c) systemic reforms for bringing about sustainable change.
