Khimjibhai Parmar, my uncle. A generous, caring, and loving person. Back in our village, everyone knows him through his loving and helping nature. He is a farmworker having 1 acre of land, two buffalos, and one cow to support his life.

Currently, he is undergoing covid-19 treatment at Sterling Hospitals-Rajkot. As I understood from a doctor, part of his lungs have dried out and became spongy. He and my aunt were infected with this deadly virus somewhere during the second week of April 2021. Fortunately, my aunt has recovered from the deadly infection at end of April-2021.

Add to his misery, unfortunately, they not having kids to look after them. We as a family are taking care of them and fighting to save my uncle’s life.
During the week 18 to 24 April 2021, there was an acute shortage of doctors, medicines, and oxygen beds in hospitals in and around Rajkot, Gujarat, India.

This resulted in a delay in him getting proper medical treatment. We somehow managed to get him doctors, medicines, and oxygen cylinders till 27th April afternoon under home isolation. Once we got a hospital bed in Sterling Hospitals -Rajkot we immediately shifted him there. Since the early morning of 28th April-2021, he is in the intensive care unit there. Doctors are saying that his condition is improving and may take another month’s time to get him out of the hospital. On average, we are paying INR 50000 per day for his medical treatment. He is also a holder of a government-backed insurance/assurance scheme for BPL (below poverty line) families. But, the hospital is refusing to accept the government-backed scheme to cover his medical expenses. Being a middle-class person, we are utilizing our savings and are paying the medical bills. But soon we will run out of money to support his treatment. Under these circumstances, we depend on your generosity to help us save his life.
