I used to do small interior projects and only source of Income of my family. 

In the year 2022 January, I got affected with Covid 19 and couldn't take any food or liquids. Whatever I tried to eat, it came out in vomitings. I lost almost 10 kgs in the span of 1 month. When I met my family doctor he asked to meet Gastroenterologist for consultation. 

I met Dr. Geetha Nagasree at Care Hospitals and got endoscopy and Biopsy done with the doctor’s advice. when we got reports they found esophageal cancer and it advanced to last stage. I was advised to take 5 radiation sessions and one chemo for every week for total of 5 weeks. I lost more weight, hair. Had blood vomitings ,constipations etc. etc.

After 27 radiation cycles, 4 chemotherapy sessions and with so many complications the tumour size shrunk. So in the month of May,I got my surgery done by Dr. Ravula Phani Krishna ,at Pace hospitals, Hi tech city, hyderabad.

Aftee the completion of almost 12 hours surgery with lot of hurdles,doctors were succeded to remove cancer affected tumor part and half of the stomach area and reconstructed it by pulling it up. with that maximum storage of my stomach had gone and i was informed that I can never take food in good quantities, can’t lie down flat forever like others.

Initially they put one feeding pipe in direct stomach, another in nose, Lung discharge bag, Urine discharge bag like that my total above weist body had become a junction of pipes and bags. 

in this whole so painful procedure i was supported by my only god gifted brother from another mother Karthik and one more friend .In this busy world, they left everything ( family, kids, businesses,from small to huge everything ) for me and was with me and prayed god every possible second for my discharge and they also taken care of all the medical bills for the discharge.

I didnt even inform my family members, well wishers, friends or  any known people except my brother and wife, thinking that whatever pain they were going through because of my health conditions is enough, didn't want to increase it more and really want to go home as cancer free person and make them happy or go in box to make them cry once for all.

After the surgery they shifted me to MICU and They sent the samples for biopsy to check the status of cancer after the surgery.

Unfortunately after the surgery also they found cancer cells in lymph nods. and I was advised to take immunotherapy as my body couldn't bare chemo or radiations and itwas costing nearly 4-5 lakhs per month for at least 12 months. 

With the help of Milaap,family members, friends, well wishers, savings, insurances and credits from near and dears, I managed to get the treatment till January month. After that I stopped due to lack of funds.Meanwhile I was taking treatement for the extreme pain in right rib cage which is happening  because the plural thickness in the right lung area which formed at the time of surgery. I got nerve blocking done thrice by the expert pain specialists of Yashoda and Medicare hospitals,But it didn't workout. When I consulted them again they said repeating the procedure is the only option and success rate is 50-50. So I stopped even that and just dragging my days with the help of Morphine 30mg four times a day and hoping for the miracle to happen. In the month of June I was adviced to get PET CT done by my oncologist Dr.Shikar Kumar as few symptoms like weight loss and Intake of food is almost came down to worse.

In the month of July, I got it done and it showed growth in the operation site and also suggested to the Endoscopy with Biopsy.

It took one month time to get these tests done because of financial issues.In the month of August, the results came and results are worse.

cancer is back at the same operated site. it is called local occurence and adenocarcinoma,moderate. 

The Doctors have said the only way for survival is removing complete stomach and pulling small intestines up to neck, opening chest and reconstructing it. 

It is a very very rare and Complex Surgery and very few Surgeons had the experience of doing it. 

I consulted Dr. Jagadiswar Goud Gajagowni after the refusal of three famous Sugical Oncologists from different famous corporate hospitals.

He is very kind enough to explain everything in detail. 

It could take 12-16 Hours to complete, has the mortality rate of 10-20%,leaks possibility is 30% which could lead to infections, Permanent weight loss, no chances of gaining.It can even lead to life long bed ridden.

The operation would cost nearly 25 Lakhs,as all the fileds of doctors need to be present there. Cardiologist, Gastroenterologist, Oncology Surgeon, Pulomonologist and no other surgeries happen to other patients at the time of this surgery.

Minimum of 6 hours of Operation theatre.Laporoscopic, Robotic are difficult to do to get the success. It has to be open surgery.

first is removal existed staples, opening it up and removing the remaining stomach then reconstructing the small intestines after that pulling it up till neck and joining it with neck. Checking Leaks etc etc.

Without surgery I cannot live more than couple of weeks. Max of three months. Chemotherapy or immunotherapy may increase another two to three months, But Surgery is the ultimate and only option.

 

It is the worst war which no one would want to fight. But this is the only option of fight for my life.
