The cyclone Yaas calmed down on May 28 (2021) after causing heavy damage in East Midnapore. The worst affected area was Bodhra Gram Panchayet in Ramnagar-1 block. The need for relief supplies was so great that if you take a car during the day, the relief goods are being looted in an instant. Moreover, the road was submerged; cars could not enter the inner village. It became almost impossible to supply drinking water or anything else to the inner villages.

It was under such circumstances that Jyotirmoy started the relief work in Ramnagar area. In the dark of Thursday night, members of "Midnapore.in" led by Jyotirmoy, carrying packets of water bottles on their heads walked through the water to the inner villages. At that time Jyotirmoy was working every day from morning to afternoon. After a few days Jyotirmoy feels physical weakness. We thought Jyotirmoy was feeling weak as a result of working hard. But within a few days his weakness did not subside and he was taken to the doctor. Blood tests revealed that Jyotirmoy had "blood cancer".

None of us could believe it. But there was no way; he was rushed to the hospital. He has been undergoing treatment in Mumbai ever since. After 1 year of treatment for blood cancer, Jyotirmoy's family has no more money. The doctor said that chemotherapy should be continued along with various medicines. "Bone marrow transplant" should be done after completion of chemotherapy. The whole process will take six to seven months. The cost is about 18 to 20 lakh rupees.
About Jyotirmoy
Not only social service, Jyotirmoy used to be for all kinds of good deeds. He used to work in SVF Entertainment. Leaving that job with the dream of doing something new, he returned to his village and started a fish business by renting a house. Bought Delivery Van, big freezer etc., with loan. But in the beginning, Covid got in the way. Business closed.

But Jyotirmoy did not stop. He went out for relief work with his Delivery Van (bought on loan). Using that Delivery Van we delivered relief materials to the remote villages of Jhargram district. Jyotirmoy also reached Khejuri with his Delivery Van during Cyclone Amphan. He paid for all the petrol, even though his business was closed.

Now Jyotirmoy has no money for his treatment. I am praying for your help in his treatment.
