Hello, I am Jitendra Owner of De MASALA BOX, a New start-up which we had started to start my carrier. I am from India but living in Brussels, Belgium with my Lovely wife and cute baby girl.
I used to work in India in one of the top Multinational banks but after marriage I moved to Brussels, as my wife belongs to Brussels. I never thought of life would be so tough here as finding right resources and countering language was a big challenge for me. I am still fighting for it. I tried job in my field for many months but could not succeed due to this barrier. Finally, me and my wife thought of following our passion. I hold a food degree so opening a business was not a problem, but again I faced the tough time due to language issue and understanding the local public and government guidelines for business, due to that we keep on paying rent from my savings from India for at least one year as we were ditched due to misrepresentation of legal formalities.
That was tough time, but still we managed it and started our Dream business De MASALA BOX on 2016 July.
Initially it was tough to make customer understood what we are doing and literally we were throwing our 50% of the food in Dustbin. Time went by and we started getting customer and our reputation also started building up. Mean while we did one Bollywood event with the help of Local Commune. This was the great opportunity to let local people know what kind of food we are trying to offer.
So, De MASALA BOX is a fresh Initiative by us to promote Local Indian street food in Homestyle cooking way. It is a Fusion Indian Food café which provides dishes from local streets to dishes which people love to eat again and again. Menu can be checked on our website - https://www.demasalabox.com/menus
Time pass by we are now holding strong and good position in the local Brussels Market especially in Auderghem Area and local commune nearby.
The year 2020 started well, with new resolution and planning to launch 5 New dishes by Spring 2020, unfortunately we all got the news of unpredictable pandemic COVID -19 which has struck entire Hotel and Catering Business (HORECA). We run De MASALA BOX as Individual Entrepreneur, which means this is the main source of my Income to run our day to day activity, purchasing items, cooking, paying rent, electricity bills, fixed cost, taxes, etc. No since March 13, 2020 it was difficult. We do receive the support from government which is mere 16,10 € as we pay our social security. But this is enough only for rent, & rest other expenses to be taken care. We are trying to raise money via Food delivery (UberEATS) & Local orders, but it is not enough to run our business, we want to save our business which has our sweat and blood.
If this business shut down then, I have nothing left with me to feed my family and I have to leave my wife and my baby girl in Belgium and move back to India , Greater Noida with my parents as per the belgian rule, but that is also fine. But without my child and wife I won't be able to live.
We are asking your support to raise fund to run our business.
