For the past six years the Garhwal English Medium School has been operating out of a simple tin building. This means that the classrooms are very noisy, hot in the summer, and cold in the winter, not to mention dusty and dirty. The land surrounding the school is quickly being developed, which means there are many days when we have no water. At the same time, the cost of the land is very expensive. As we are only leasing our location, we are at risk of eviction. So time is of the essence! We have recently purchased land for a new school building. There is plenty of room to make 11 large classrooms, a computer room, library and an office, and still ample space for a playground and assembly area. We invite you to help us build our school one brick at a time. Each brick costs 100 Rupees. We need approximately 10,000 bricks. With your help, we can do it!

The Garhwal English Medium School is supported by our registered Non Government Organization, Garhwal Organization for the Upliftment of the Needy (GOUN). Our school has been running for 13 years, and offers charitable English Medium education to 200 children from the villages of Jounpur.
Our new school will include 11 (12x16')  classrooms, plus an office, computer room and library.  It will include an assembly area and a playground for the children.
